Vergani from Milan, have created a range of gluten free panettones for those that are gluten intolerant or for those that want to cut down on their gluten intake. Panettone is to be enjoyed by all.

The tradition of panettone at Christmas dates back to 1395 when it was decreed that all of the bakeries in Milan were allowed to bake the so-called 'Pan del tone' or 'bread of value'. The 'Pan del tone' was a luxury, white bread made of wheat which was usually only for the wealthy but now the poor could also eat it. In Milan there is a Christmas ritual called 'ciocco' which took place every Christmas Eve. During 'ciocco' the family would gather around the fireplace. The father of the family would take the Pan del ton, divide it and offer each family member a piece. Panettone's origins are rooted in Milan and has since gained popularity around the world.

Ingredients 

Gluten free panettone. Gluten free bakery product. Specifically formulated for people intolerant to gluten.

Ingredients: Butter (milk) - Sugar - Candied orange peel (10%) (Orange peel - Glucose-fructose syrup - Sugar -Acidifier: citric acid - Preservative: sulphur dioxide) - Raisins (10%) - Rice flour - Egg yolk - Skimmed milk powder rehydrated - Potato starch - Mother yeast (Rice flour - Water- Lactobacilli - Salt) Corn starch - Emulsifiers: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids - Brewer's yeast - Stabiliser: sorbitol, glycerol - Thickeners: xanthan, guar - Salt - Flavourings.

May contain traces of nuts, peanuts and soy.

Minimum shelf life of 3 months unless indicated otherwise.

Each item is scrutinised before being sent. We only send items that reach our quality standards. Wooden items, such as handles, might feel a bit rough from the manufacturer. Our team in the UK hand sand some of these items to make sure the item is at its best.

We hand wrap delicate items before sending them to you to ensure they are protected and reach you in perfect condition. We don't believe in excessive packaging and believe the tools speak for themselves.

We hope to do our bit for the environment and reduce plastic waste. Most of our packaging is paper based and is non-laminated, which can be easily recycled or composted at home.

We aim to reuse materials and packaging where possible and this is usually the only plastic you will find in your parcel. This plastic protection can also be recycled.
